Employee Testimonial

Team Leader, Wroxham

''Having left the community care industry, I had no intentions of returning until I had a

conversation with the HR Manager with AlliCare. I was invited into the office for an informal chat to establish how they differed from other companies within the care sector. I was pleasantly surprised with the support structure offered to staff, clients and relatives.

Once my interview had been concluded I was offered the position of Team Leader, my employment started in November 2016 and I haven’t looked back. I won’t deny it’s not hard work because it is, but visiting clients in their own homes and making a difference to their lives far outweighs this and the sense of satisfaction that I get is second to none and very rewarding.

I will give an example of how we make a difference, one of the clients we visit has dementia and recently refused to eat and threw away everything that we cooked, also refusing any personal care and wouldn’t put clean clothes on with lots of gentle encouragement and support from the carers the client is now eating a lot better has a shower, enjoys listening to music again and we even have a dance.

Getting to this stage has been challenging but the satisfaction knowing that with the support from myself and the other carers has made a real difference to the client’s well-being. AlliCare have offered me excellent opportunities I am currently taking my NVQ level 3, undertaking the Care Certificate and online training to gain further knowledge which is encouraged to help me reach my full potential.

I can honestly say that I look forward to going out each shift to see the clients knowing that I am making a real difference to their lives, knowing that I have support when I need''.
